Betty Jeane Tenison

Betty Jeane (Farmer)Tenison, was a devoted wife, caring mother and grandmother. She passed from this life to receive her heavenly reward on Jan 2, 2022, at age 86 in the hospital surrounded by her family.
Betty was born Oct 1, 1935, in Smithville, OK, to Odis Watkins Farmer and Leeora (Rogers) Farmer. Betty was baptized at the Haskell Church of Christ, Aug 1947, graduated from Bixby High School and then was married to Wendell Tenison, her husband of almost 68 years. Betty and Wendell have 3 sons, DeeWayne, Paul, and David.

Betty was a wonderful wife who loved to cook and her pecan pie was the best in the world. Betty was very involved in church activities, she loved to bowl, shop, and do ceramics with her mom and sisters, and she loved to quilt with Wendell. She loved to fish and would get so excited every time she caught a fish, no matter the size. Betty worked most of her adult life in downtown Bixby at the bank, telephone company, sporting goods store, or the tag office. Betty was a very devoted mother who was always involved with the activities of her boys. Whether it was nursing them back to health, taking them shopping, having them shell peas with her, watching a band performance, little league baseball games, football games, or getting up before the sun came up in order to drive Paul on his paper route because it was raining outside. As much as she loved being a mother, she probably had a deeper passion as a grandmother and great grandmother as she loved being surrounded by her grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Mary Morse and Juanda Gorbet, 2 brothers Cletus Farmer and James Farmer.

Betty is survived by her husband Wendell Tenison of Wagoner, 3 sons and 1 daughter-in-law; DeeWayne Tenison of Bixby, Paul Tenison of Saint Maries, Idaho, David (Saundra) Tenison of Beggs, 10 grandchildren; Cody Tenison, Allan (Lindsey)Tenison, Nathan (Ashley)Tenison, April (Dan)Glowacki, Emily (Riley) Bender, Ethan Tenison, Wyatt Tenison, Zac (Rachel)Tenison, Jason (Drew)Tenison, Damon (Alexis) Tenison, 22 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, a host of church family, and longtime friends.
