Services to honor and celebrate the life of Edwina Thompson will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the RiverCrest Chapel, Bixby. Edwina passed away on December 28, 2019, after battling multiple myeloma. She was 56.
Born May 9, 1963, in Muskogee, OK, Edwina was the daughter of Paul "Pinkie" Thompson and Virgie Thompson. Growing up in Wagoner, Edwina sang in the church choir and often helped her dad with his paper route. In 1981, she became a graduate of Wagoner High School where she played softball and competed with the high school swing dancing team.
Through the years, Edwina would welcome two children: first, Eric Ryan Thompson and later, Stephanie Nicole Brooks.
To support her family, Edwina worked for 20+ years as a legal secretary for law firms in Tulsa, OK. Later on, she studied at Tulsa Community College, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society. She graduated with an Associate's in Biotechnology in May 2013.
At the time of her passing, she was an employee of Walmart Neighborhood Market where she worked in the bakery & deli department.
Edwina adored music, concerts, dachshunds, cross-stitching, baking, and spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, and two grand bunnies.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eric; her parents: Pinkie and Virgie Thompson; her sister, Phyllis Clutter; brothers: Phil Coulson and Bryan Thompson.
She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Brooks Carr and her husband, Jay; sisters: Janice Geiling, Evelyn McGann, Paulette Feather, and Ella Mae Oliver; brothers: Sonny Thompson and Alan Thompson.
