Services to honor and remember the life of Barbara Morris will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in the RiverCrest Chapel, Bixby. Family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2019 at Bixby Funeral Service. Barbara passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 in Glenpool. She was 75.
Born May 26, 1944, Barbara grew up in Dayton, Ohio and was one of five children gifted to John and Martha Short. All of those children would do their share of chipping in and performing tasks and chores on the family farm and Barbara was no exception. She would also attend schools in the Dayton area and became a high school graduate in 1962.
It would be close to ten years later that Barbara married Robert Lee “Bob” Morris. The couple made their home in the Tulsa area where Barbara worked, many years, for Unarco Industries.
In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, watching her favorite television shows, putting puzzles together, going shopping, loving on her animals, and, most of all, spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren.
Barbara has been described as both loving and caring. She was also known for saying what she meant and meaning what she said!
This mother, grandmother, relative and friend will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by: her son, Robert Morris and his wife, Heather; six grandchildren: Robert, II, Alyssa, Alexis, Ashley, Athena, and Elizabeth and two brothers: Jerry and John Short.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert “Bob” Morris; her parents: John and Martha Short; two sisters: Wanda and Elizabeth; two sisters-in-law: Elizabeth and Jean; a brother-in-law, Kenneth; and two nephews: Larry and Guy.
