James Williams Obituary James Dudley “Jim” Williams passed away on February 9th at his daughter’s home in Porter, OK while surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 24, 1933. He graduated from Oak Park H Read Obituary
Jim and I were classmates at the University of Missouri, both in journalism school. We were also roommates, and apartment shared with Ray Metzger. Always thought Jim was a good guy even though he was an SAE and I was a Sigma Nu. Being roomies along with Ray, we threesome had a great time together kibitzing around laughing at this or that. After graduation, Jim and I became naval officers with he being stationed on the USS Lexington and I deciding on the air section of the Navy. I was stationed at Barbers Point Naval Air Station, Oahu and the Lexington made port and, can't remember how, but we get together while the Lexington ,CVA16, was in port. Had a few beers and a lot of laughs. To see Jim one more time when he was visiting in Little Rock, I think with in-laws, and he came by and we had a brief visit. That was the last time I saw him. I will always have fond memories of our friendship while distant, nonetheless was enduring..
Jim was a great man. I've known him since 1985 and have many great memories. Lots of advice and stories I'll never forget. :-)
